Federico Tosi’s artistic practice ranges from watercolors to bronze castings, from drawing to sculpture with resins and terracotta. His research investigates the relationship between humans and nature, speculating on -apocalyptic scenarios that question the distinction between good and evil. His works imagine situations in which the melancholy of contemporary archaeology meets the grotesque and the dystopian; macabre divertissements that combine temporalities, scales, a variety of materials, travel diaries in exotic destinations or fossils from future eras composed of casts of scraps from our present. His subjects are captured in their processes of decay or at the moment of their destruction, revealing both a cynical sense of anger toward humanity and a melancholy for what has been lost.
