“My work arises in the space between the body and verbal language: that palpable void where words come to a halt, generating a sensory relationship. I explore eroticism in past cinema and its connection to the transformation of the gaze and the imaginary around sexual pleasure. Following the project Scents of Indecent Scene, presented at Le Alleanze dei Corpi, I continue a research practice that frames pleasure as a political and social claim.”
Jacopo Miliani is an artist based in Milan. His work has been presented internationally in galleries, museums, and film festivals. In 2021, he made the film La discoteca, set in a future where every gesture that produces pleasure is strictly forbidden. Currently, he is wearing speckled socks, sweatpants, white briefs, and a hardcore band T-shirt.
